Mystery grows deeper in the second episode of what has
already become one of my favorite shows on TV.
“Orphan Black” brings more surprises as Sarah Manning continues to
follow the mystery of her doppelgangers into lavish hotels and suburbia only to
learn that the mystery of her past goes way beyond what she could have
imagined.
The phone call Sarah answers at the end of the first
episode commands her to bury Katja and find her briefcase. Sarah’s troubles don’t end there as Art, Beth’s
partner in the force, has found the money in her trunk. The money Sarah plans to use to take her
daughter and Felix far away from their current lives. Art believes Sarah is trying to leave the
country so he is holding onto the money until she gives her statement on the
civilian she shot, forcing Sarah to go further into Beth’s life.
Sarah finds the address for one of the names on the birth
certificates from last season and traces her down to find another doppelganger,
this one is a soccer mom. Alison Hendrix
meets Sarah after Sarah follows her to her kid’s soccer practice. Alison chastises her for coming around her
neighborhood and tells her to await a call for more information. Sarah is instructed to go to Alison’s house
and enter through the basement, where Sarah finds Alison and another twin,
Cosima.
Just two episodes into this show and I’m already salivating
for more. The premise is brilliant and
the story is expertly told revealing information at the perfect pace. Every episode reveals just enough information
to drag you further into the story, but not too much so you come back next
episode. The best part is you learn
uncover the mystery along with Sarah, our protagonist, connecting you to her
character with every moment on screen. I
can’t say enough about this show. If you
haven’t watched it you’re missing out.
4.5/5
